Thinking outside the box...

"Only those who see the invisible can do the impossible"
- Richard Gregory

Having come from a corporate environment, we were constantly challenged to 'think outside the box'. It almost became our corporate mantra. We were asked to do things differently if it meant 'smart and cost-effective'

As one of the participants in a think tank meeting, I received this gift, and I like it. Normally, the standard paperweight and/or pen is mundane to say the least. However, an actual 'thinking out of the box' that I kept on my desk, allowed me to look at it, think about it, and many times do something in a different way.

This thinking out of the box certainly does not pertain only to corporate life. There are countless ways we could look at our lives, and think about things differently, and not do things the same way, if it means to better oneself and/or the world around us.

Do you think out of the box very often? If so, please share. Thanks.

  1. I often have to think outside the box when illustrating for someone. I may interpret something all together differently then a client-so I have to squeeze out of my comfort zone at times. Taking chances and going off the grid can end in a wonderful, exciting and sometimes life-changing event.

  2. For me, thinking outside the box usually comes into play with decorating and design. I love to make projects out of unexpected objects and materials.

  3. Guilty. I need someone to put me back in the box.
My head needs to think of all the possibilities, outside the box! I need to give myself one of those awards.
I do love a good box! INside and Out!

  4. I naturally gravitate outside of the box. As soon as the walls go up, I'm out! I'm married to a in the box kind of guy, so it all works out in the end.
