Flowers from my garden

When life gives you rain, grow flowers

To say we have had alot of rain is an understatement. My sidewalk is even half flooded. All I can do to keep from curling up in a ball is to look at what has bloomed in my garden. I hope you enjoy the color yellow as much as I do!

Time for the show

Wouldn't this park setting be a great place to sit with a loved one: family or friend, and be entertained by the beautiful flowers? It looks like an orchestra performing, and the chairs are in the audience section.

Take note that the chairs are different sizes, and the larger chair has arm rests. Could that be for the elder, and the smaller chair for the younger person? I would like to think so. And that they both, regardless of age are able to see and inhale the lucious beauty of the flowers.

Do you often take time to stop and see, feel, and breathe in nature? The seasons are miracles, and I believe it is important to take the time and acknowledge their beauty in whatever form they are in. The seasons like our lives, pass very quickly.

O' Tulip...you are...

So beautiful!
I love countless types of flowers, shrubs, trees and practically everything else that grows outside except the poison ivy family (I can start itching as I type the words). However, there is something about the Menton tulip that has me captured. And I think I know what it is - the shades it exudes. It's not all pink, or all peach, or all coral. It's a gorgeous melange of several different shades of different families. At times, I almost see a rosy-like shade on it.
We have a group of them outside, quite large in fact. Some have opened during the day, showing their exquisite layers of colors. And some are a wee bit shy, and are waiting for their moment of "ta da" to occur. In the photo above, this one, is not quite ready to come out, however, what I love about it most is that it's just beginning to unfurl. You can see that at the top of the petals. One can only imagine what shades and colors will come out when this beauty decides to show herself. I love that layering look. It is abit mysterious, yet knowing. Can you tell I am a fan?!

The Crocuses Have Arrived!!

Once they push their cute flower petals up through the earth, you can believe Spring is not too far away. Although I have not seen nor heard a Robin Redbreast, my belief rests with seeing the crocuses that we planted last year. I like when I see them poking up through the snow, but it didn't happen that way this time. The snow had melted, and the next thing I knew, pop, there they were, showing off their spring colors of bright yellow, purple and white flowers.

We even have crocuses where we did not plant them. However, I can thank Henry our resident squirrel who takes it upon himself to move bulbs around. We've experienced this quite often. I don't know why I bother to sketch a diagram, labeling what bulbs are where. Because after Henry gets done with our yard, tulips are where daffodils bulbs were planted and so on. I've given up; Henry is going to do what he pleases. I'm just glad he doesn't leave the property with them!

I will update the garden further as the flowers so gently unfold to show us their magical beauty.
