Love & being Thankful

Well folks, it is that time of year again...and personally I look forward to it. The scent of cinnamon and ginger waft through my head, and my anticipation increases. I am very thankful for many many gifts I have in my life. My family, health, friends, cat, just to name a few. It is all good(actually, it is great). Although there are days when I temporarily "forget" about being so thankful, and fall down. It is love that brings me back up, and I am very thankful about that.
I happen to enjoy talking with people whom I have never met before. My sweet husband jokes that when we go out to a public environment, I can meet someone in record time. He will step away for a few minutes, and lo and behold when he returns, I am chatting with someone. It is heart-warming for me. I love to give a compliment to someone as I walk by them. Whether it's a woman's purse or shoes, or an elderly gentleman's tie, it's all the same, and done with sincerity. My eyes and heart twinkle when I see a smile. It's love. And I believe love is what we are here for.
So, in the days and weeks that follow, if I may suggest taking the time to see the people in front of you, behind you and to the side of you. A smile or nod to someone can make someone's day. And wouldn't you be glad you did?

  1. Indeed, it is so important to do things out of kindness and from the heart rather than feeling obliged.
I gave blood this morning for one of my daughter's teacher and son. She had cancer when she was pregnant with him. I think of all the kindness that was there in that gym - we all can do little bits to show our kindness. A compliment, an action can speak loudly.

  2. Kathleen,
What a special reminder to take time to give someone a compliment or make someone smile in the days ahead. We all love to get compliments, and I often give them in return. Yes, love is one of our greatest gifts. Thank you for spreading your love around today.

  5. Good morning Kathleen! How lovely to see your visit today! And your advice is well-taken; we are all in such a hurry to get to where we work or live, play or want to be, and we often forget the person along the path with us. Giving a compliment and stopping to chat to someone is a lost art, but I try to make it happen daily. Sadly, too many people are too busy to stop and just give a little of their time. Thank YOU for coming by!

And that's right; you mentioned my cards! I hope you have enjoyed them! Anita
