A look back...

Leaning abit. LOL. It makes me think of the Leaning Tower of Pisa!

We are very excited about decorating our home for the holidays. However,to prevent myself from pulling out the boxes without my dear Hubby (I need to be gentle with my lower back), I decided to post a few pics. from last year's Christmas decor. I absolutely and thoroughly enjoy our decorations. Some of them came from Allen's family, some from my family, some we bought separately, and some together.
I love the thoughts and feelings that are jiggled from our memory banks as we decorate. We laugh about childhood memories and Santa, speak about loved ones now gone. Christmas music playing in the background makes it all the more grand. It's a special time for Allen and I, and we celebrate it together.

I find it interesting to see how people decorate their homes. This is a time when creativity bursts like a child's smile on Christmas morning. Do you enjoy decorating? Although Allen and I don't have children of our own, we certainly become like children, and it's fun!

  4. Your holiday decorations are so playful and fun! I love them! We put up the lights outside last week on a rare and sunny 65 degree November Saturday. Soon I'll do the inside!

  8. So fun to see your decorations! I love decorating when I don't have to hurry about it. The past couple of years we've put up our advent calendar, then a week or so later gotten a tree.

  9. I usually get all crazy over Christmas decorating, but this year we have the new kittens and so are leaving all my pretty glass ornaments in the boxes. We have visions of those two scaling and bringing down the tree! So all that's up are nonbreakables--plastic and cardboard mostly. I don't know if that's what's affected my mood or not, but I'm having a hard time getting past "Every think I put up is one more thing I need to put away." Bah humbug! I think I'll try some holiday baking.

  14. Thanks for sharing pieces of your holiday past. We too don't have children, but love to decorate and welcome anyone and everyone with or without families. Miss Kelly LOVES Christmas and I think she just might give us one more Christmas with her. I hope! Hugs my friend. xo

  15. I hate to agree with you...but you *may* have had a bit of a leaning Tower of Pisa thing going on! :-)

We love, love Christmas but we're both up to our eyeballs with work and nervous about pulling it all together this year! (In fairness, I'm not sure Mike's too nervous about it...don't think that's a guy thing, lol!).
