A Special Key...

A key can reveal so many wonderful things in life. Besides a door, a heart, a safe, a passageway....I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but not really. Keys can represent a path not taken, or wanting to take but hesitant about going down that road. It is not so easy to unlock a new door, but if you don't, the fruit may remain on the limb, and you will have missed the opportunity to taste it.

Do you have a key that represents something special to you?

  1. I really like this. I do have a key that is special. It is a small brass key that locked the desk belonging to my Grandmother. It is very dear.

  2. The fruit left on the limb is chilling and insightful. Thank you for this precious reminder, peace, xxx.

P.S. you left the best comment ever and I am grateful, K.

  3. Yes, I have an interesting key. Not as romantic as perhaps I would like, but a key just the same. What will it open? I have no idea. That's the puzzle. Where did I get it? i don't know. Perhaps someone lost it. Perhaps someone gave it to me for safekeeping years ago. But I won't throw it out.

  7. Starting our new blog was a key for me. Something new to think about, figure out, enjoy, share a piece of myself, create, connect with others, enjoy. All of it for ME. How many things in our lives as mothers and wives are just for us...just because. That was something that frustrated me about some of the responses I got from people when they found out we were starting a blog. Why? They would ask. Is it a ministry? What purpose does it serve? At first I felt a little selfish...then I felt empowered. I deserve to have something all my own. Who knows why? I don't even really know. I just know for now it makes me happy. That is enough. Have a great day. Holly at lifelaughlatte.blogspot.com

  9. I have a collection of skeleton keys. When I see them at flea markets and garage sales, I can't help myself, I'm drawn to them. I never thought about why I like them until I read this post. Perhaps they represent the unknown. Everyone needs a little mystery in life!

  11. I like to keep keys that I have used through my life because they remind me of where I have been and that I have many places still to go.

This is a lovely post :o)

  13. I love this. Beautiful post. Embarassingly, I still have a key to an old piggy bank I had as a kid. Both stare at me everyday...LOL!

  15. Right now, keys represent things to hide and sneak out the door because my 18-month-old grandson, Capt. Adorable, is determined to grab every keyring he sees -- at least he's progressed past automatically putting the keys in his mouth and now tries to unlock the door with them. That's progress!
