One month and one day late
I wanted to post about Georgia O'Keefe last month on March 6th, the anniversary of her death. Actually, in place of using the word "death" I prefer to think of her in a celebratory way, for she gave us so much, and continues to do so. I have already written about her in a former post, but I just can't help myself. Her creativity and strength moves me in ways I can't describe. I could scan countless prints and photographs taken of her by her husband Alfred Stieglitz, however, I think I will this choose one.

ReplyDeleteSince over her Georgia O"Keefe is less known or, in my unfortenate case, not known at all, could you please mention a website or a book about her, that will bring to me the beauty of this artist that you describe ?
I so love to learn about inspiring extraordinary women.

ReplyDeleteI heard a fellow fellow student say that there were no women master artist. I could not believe what I was hearing. From that point on all my papers were by women artist. I know that it sounds sexist, but I found that not only did I become a bigger fan of their work, I also began to admire their strength and voice even more than before. Georgia O'Keefe was of course one of those.
