Art = Beauty = Art

"Dance at Bougival" by Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1883)

Recently, my husband and I had the pleasure of visiting the city of Boston, MA. Along the way we stopped at the Museum of Fine Arts. Wow ! The architecture, paintings, sculpture, solarium, windows...the beauty went on and on...and on and on...  One painting in particular won my heart in a special way. It is entitled "Dance at Bougival" (1883) by Pierre-Auguste Renoir. I have admired this painting for a very long time and I was able to see it up close and personal, as its permanent home is in this lovely museum. The way the gentleman tilts his head ever so slightly as he moves into the woman's dance step is key in this painting. I am also of the opinion that Renoir focused on the woman's red bonnet, white dress and the gentleman's hat.
A 16"x20" unframed print of this painting will soon be mailed to me. I will have fun selecting two mats and a frame, so I, too, can have a "Renoir" hanging in my home.   : )
