Who doesn't love a great quote?

I love quotes. They can be profound, poetic, funny...you name it and there is one out there. I actually collect them. I have e-folders and paper (yes, paper) folders filled with famous and not so famous quotes, that I have collected over the years. Beautiful words can bring a smile to my face or tears to my eyes. I love when my eyes pop open, my jaw drops down, and I think to myself  "Wow!!!"
My infatuation for quotes began in high school, along with poetry and has continued ever since. I will leave you with one for now. Have a great weekend.

"The greatest good you can do for another is not just share your riches, but to reveal to him his own."
Benjamin Disraeli
British politician (1804 - 1881)

A Majestic Sight

I hope you like this photograph of Mustangs.  Nature, once again at its finest. I have looked at this many times, and seem to notice something new with each viewing. The various shades of blues and greens on the horizon are just amazing. There is a blurriness of the grass in the foreground, emphasizing the sharp focus on the Mustangs. Notice the different standing and bending positions? Their colors are different shades of blacks, browns, whites and grays. I love to look at how the the sun reflects on them. There is so much to look at.
A meeting of hungry friends. So wild and beautiful.

A Poem

"Let snowflakes dance in fields of grey,
Let winter stars come out to play and light the skies above...
Let firelight kindle hearts within,

and the world be wrapped in love."
Author: unknown

It is the best I can do with mountains of snow outside our door. I am embracing it with cooking comfort foods, baking, and taking long walks with my camera. I have picked up the telephone to communicate with friends, instead of e-mails. It has all felt good to me, for me. I have been reading a lot more and reflecting on everything...kind of going with the season. I have even been going to sleep earlier, and that feels great!  Should you be feeling a bit "under the weather" - find something that will make you feel better. I sent a couple of flower photos to a girlfriend who is in desperate need of a summer reminder. I am also taking myself to a spa on Wednesday for a facial. Keep well in mind, body and spirit. ~

February 10, 2014 - Happy Birthday Mom!

Well, it is official...today February 10, 2014  my Mother is 93 years of age. She is a kind, generous and wise lady. When people meet her, they walk away with a smile.
My head does a spinning dance when I think of the time span she has lived through, having been born in 1921. She could be in a history book with all the world's advancements she has seen and experienced in her lifetime. One thing is perfectly clear to me. The times may change, however, people do not. There is and always will be, good people in the world. She taught me that.
My Mother lives her religion by being kind to everyone she meets. Whether it's the new Mailman Carrier on the block, or a person with an incorrect telephone number; she wishes everyone a nice day. Fortunately, her health is great and her memory is terrific. She has been a wonderful role model for myself and my three siblings. I know I am blessed, and I am extremely thankful.
