RoadTrip

Hubby and I are taking a road trip to MA for the weekend. I am looking forward to seeing the western MA scenery; it is beautiful. I will return to blogland on Tuesday.

Have a great weekend!

The succulent strawberry

This painting by Julian Merrow-Smith of a strawberry is mouth-watering. The ripeness makes me want to rush to the market and buy the best basket I can find. However, I know none of them can compare to this beauty.

From one friend to another

This group of friends seem to have similar traits, yet different. I like that with female friendships. I founds these cuties while shopping at Coldwater Creek shop, http://www.coldwatercreek.com/ and decided to purchase them for their adorable features. I have since decided to give them to a friend who is in need of cheering up. I think she will like them.

The memory of...

these flowers have given me much pleasure during the past few weeks of Spring. Lovely to look at, there hasn't been a day whereby I haven't smiled and thanked them for their loveliness. I've watched them bud, grow, bloom, flourish and then mellow. I hope you enjoy them too. Their colors are some of natures's best. I did nothing but to plant bulbs last Fall with Allen, and to watch the Rosario Iris re-bloom after a sleepy winter.

More than just a passing glance

I took this photo while looking up at the big blue Spring sky. Do you look up at the day and/or night sky?

A labor of love

Our very good friends (who happen to be neighbors) are terrific Gardeners. They have a visual way of letting you know they are seasoned in their knowledge of gardening. And let's not forget the beautiful birds they so generously feed. The following photos are their most recent tulip blooming extravaganza. In one word: stunning! We love Mary and Theresa, and are thankful they have shared their gardening knowledge with us. I would be planting weeds if it wasn't for them. :)

Art imitates Nature

I think if Georgia O'Keefe ever saw a Daffodil like this, she would paint it. This photo reminds me of many of her flowers, with its incredible curly detail, almost like tissue paper. Just look at the small delicate points on the center edges of each white petal. ~Beautiful~

Joanne

Today, April 2nd, is my very good friends' Birthday. Her name is Joanne, and if you ever met her, chances are you would like her.

Joanne and I have the ability to just sit and talk, or maybe not talk, but to take in the moment. To sit and listen to the music that plays, and really listen to the words, without cutting them off with our own words. To stare at a painting, and not have to comment every 5 seconds about it, but to breathe it in like a heady wine. To allow for more than one of the senses to envelope us, so we become at one with where we are, and who we are. Joanne is one of those friends with whom I can do all that. She understands that life is not always a garden of flowers, and that the music is not always melodious. There's hurt and sadness in this world, and she is extremely compassionate to others and their feelings. Without people like Joanne in this world, I believe the world would lose its soul.

Joanne's spirit and energy is vital for life to be pursued in the most beautiful way. She looks for that garden of flowers, and breathes each one in, as if it's her first time ever doing so. Her excitement is contagious. To me, that is a simple innocence, at any age. I could continue to describe her , for she is so insightful, delightful and deep. Joanne is a beautiful human being, inside and out.
My friend - I wish you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I will always cherish our friendship.
