    Happy 4th of July to you, too! I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend!

    We're planning a relaxing day at home for the 4th. We'll probably have something on the grill for dinner and light a few fireworks after dark.

    I love that painting - I believe that it is in the MET. The story goes that the painter returned to America after a time of being away in Paris and painting during the impressionistic period - and was moved by the red white and blue flags - Such an amazing painting for me. So symbolic in many ways.

    Thank you for showing the Hassam painting. Your choice of artwork is so close to mine and your comments are so inspirational.
    Have a Happy Independence Day. I am going to our square to hear the reading of the Declaration of Independence in the morning by a costumed interpreter and will get big lumps in my throat!!!
