Books

Can you please suggest a good book?  No science-fiction thank you. I am going on a five hour airplane flight, and want a book that is so intriguing that I will not notice all the noise around me. I have a book list somewhere, however, it is not making an appearance like I wish it would.
Thank you for your time. : )

  1. Ooh..that is a tough one Kathleen. This is where a Kindle comes in handy for me. I have several books so that if I am not in the mood for one, I can start another. Not helpful to your circumstances at the moment...but for future reference. One thought is to start with my little Brown Paper Book Club, it is a collection of books recommended by myself and readers. There is bound to be something intriguing there.... http://astore.amazon.com/coloflif0b-20

Safe travels and happy reading! xx

  2. Oh Kathleen, I seldom read books these days. I just got some glasses for reading, so I'm going to be reading more. I miss it so. Please have a safe flight and a wonderful trip. You mean a lot to me.

    Love,

  3. Hello Kathy...so excited for you and your trip, it's going to be lovely! I love the time that a vacation gives for reading, especially on a flight (praying they don't start allowing cell phone conversations on flights...that will absolutely ruin the reading time!). This time of year I always love to read the Narnia series...starting with the Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, they feel Christmassy to me, I don't consider them science fiction...even though they're 'out there'...they just make me feel happy and good after reading them. I usually read the Bronte's in the fall (so moody)...but Jane Eyre is always wonderful. At the moment, I've been immersing myself in two biographies about Walt Disney, such a fascinating man, absolutely brilliant and his story is so interesting. The two I'm reading now are 'Walt Disney, An American Original' by Bob Thomas, and 'How to Be Like Walt' by Pat Williams...love both so far, reading simultaneously...so inspired by him in so many ways (of course, I grew up going to Disneyland so that might have something to do with it).
If I think of anymore I'll let you know...xo J~

  6. Hope you had a nice trip! After reading the above post about friendship, I think you might enjoy Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah. It is really good. Also anything by Wally Lamb is great too!
