That's a beautiful picture! I can only imagine how breathtaking your garden is in person as the photos you post are always so lovely. I hope the butterflies start showing up, though I hope Zack isn't like my kitties who love to chase anything that moves. So far I have been able to keep them away from any butterflies!
Thank you for your beautiful photos and thoughts. I have been looking for butterflies and saw a Black swallowtail today! I have parsley planted for them to lay their eggs!!!
The butterflies and hummingbirds are back! Hopefully, we will be seeing more as the summer progresses. Your photo is Scabiosa ‘Butterfly Blue' (aka: Pincushion flower) not a butterfly bush. Butterfly bushes grow like weeds here and I'd be happy to send you some (I've sent some off to a few people already and they survived and are thriving. They are very hardy and can be invasive.) The butterflies and hummingbirds love them! Let me know.
Hi Deborah: Thanks a bunch for offering a Butterfly bush; I would love one! I tried to send you an e-mail, but couldn't find your e-mail address. I hope you see this reply. Thank you for correcting me in my quest for learning the names of all these plants. Happy 4th! :)
Haven't seen many butterflies, either!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that armeria maritima?
Maybe they are all at Joyce's~ keeping her company and watching over her.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day Kathleen.
Yes, I agree - they must be flying around over Joyce to let her know we are all a flutter as she is home now.
ReplyDeleteNow I am looking for butterflies.
Pretty garden there....if I were a butterfly, I would be there.
